This assessment is designed to explore your developmental history, current experiences, strengths, challenges and patterns of functioning across areas commonly associated with ADHD and Autism.

what does the assessment involve?

The preliminary assessment may include:

• An initial clinical interview and detailed developmental history

• Exploration of current ADHD and Autism-related experiences

• Discussion of childhood experiences, relationships, education and work

• Consideration of how your experiences affect everyday functioning

• Review of relevant mental health and personal history

• Appropriate screening and assessment measures

• Consideration of alternative or overlapping explanations for your experiences

• A clinical discussion of whether your presentation is consistent with ADHD and/or Autism

• Recommendations about whether a comprehensive diagnostic assessment may be beneficial

 

is this a diagnosis?

A preliminary assessment is not the same as a comprehensive diagnostic assessment.

It provides an initial clinical formulation and can help identify whether there is sufficient evidence to warrant further assessment. Where appropriate, you will be provided with recommendations about next steps, which may include completing a comprehensive ADHD and/or Autism assessment.

This approach allows us to avoid rushing toward a diagnosis while still taking your experiences seriously and providing meaningful clinical insight.

Preliminary ADHD & Autism Assessment: $350

​

The assessment is completed as a psychological service, with in depth history, screeners and a letter of preliminary diagnosis. 

​

A comprehensive assessment, if recommended, is a separate service and will involve additional appointments, assessment measures and reporting.
